For our client Hays Sales is currently looking for a European Commercial Director.

The European Commercial Director holds the end responsibility for all European sales activities. You will establish a clear commercial strategy and set SMART objectives for various countries. To make sure that organisational performance and sales productivity is achieved, you oversee the day-to-day sales and are in close contact with your Sales and Account managers. In order to generate new revenue opportunities, you follow the market, customers, trends and technology developments and inform the executive, sales and engineering team about new insights, together with your plan of action.
As a European Commercial Director you provide regular reports on different markets, product portfolios and their forecast. You establish process improvements and develop a competitive business strategy.
A big part of your role as Commercial Director will involve being the go-to person concerning international standards and restrictions, regulation, trade policies and customs that can affect operations. You make sure that high quality service is provided, and you are a true ambassador of the company through all contacts with customers, government, organisations and employees.

The best candidate has proven experience as a European Commercial Director or in a similar executive role. You have an in-depth knowledge of sales and marketing, and a proven track record of driving profitable growth. You are familiar with international reporting, competitive analysis, strategic planning and commercial due diligence.
As you will be part of an international company that is characterised by short communication lines and the direct involvement of the management in day-to-day operations, we are looking for a candidate that is hands-on, able to plan their own agenda efficiently even with travelling 60% of the time, and extremely observant to constantly be aware of what the sales progress is in different countries and what challenges they face. Must haves are a perfect knowledge of English, proven leadership skills in a fast-changing environment and the ability to work effectively and independently in a fast-paced business.
